A five-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a lorry while riding her bike.

The child was playing near Oakfield School in East Hull when she was struck by an HGV at about 3.40pm on Thursday.

A number of passers-by desperately rushed to her aid and called emergency services, but the girl died of her injuries at the scene.
